You definitely have to stop on this cafe between Auckland going to Whangarei or somewhere north and try their chocolate, and eat at their rustic and well presented cafe! So much choices for the chocs, definitely a haven for chocoholics like me! Cafe downside is when it gets too much busy, you might need to wait a bit longer for your orders to arrive. Nonetheless, highly recommended place at Mangawhai!

Get ready to wait if you come at the peak hour. We came on Sunday at 11am. Only the part before the entrance (not the patio) are dog friendly. And quite a few people are keen on this spot. So you just got to wait. Wait for food was also around 40 mins, but to be fair, we were warned. Staff is supernice, despite being crazy busy and overwhelmed. Get the signature hot chocolate and the croissant. Great combo!
I only went for a coffee and chocolate and was no dissapointed at all! Chocolates are amazing (you can buy them next door to the cafe and they also have a nice selection of wines), and the coffee is absolutely amazing. One of the best coffees I've had for sure! I didnt have a proper meal but the food looked and smelled amazing and people seemed to be very happy. The decoration of the place is nice and the staff are very helpful! I'm definitely coming back and highly recommend . Just keep in mind that this place is very popular when you go there on long weekends as there are many visitors and waiting times can be long.
Beautiful, rustic chocolate shop and factory. You can look through the windows at the back of the shop and see the artists at work. Fairly reasonable price considering the amount of work and skill needed in this job. Also stockists of some wines, because that's what you need when eating fancy chocolate! Lovely little cafe next door aswell if you fancy a bite to eat.
We came here daily 3 days in a row. The food was a hit for breakfast on all 3 days. Absolutely loved their version of French toast. The cabinet food was also declicious. I loved the creamed rice and sandwiches and pretty much everything we ordered. The highlight was the hot chocolate where they give you a bar of Benetts chocolate. This magically melts in the drink and makes it even more divine. Would come back here again and tell everyone about it. Worth the drive and stopping by. Best to go Early morning on weekends to avoid crowds so you can get a good seat. Their set up is great and the service is brilliant.
