Very cool beach close to the city. Not sand, more shells then anything. Pretty views and a lier you can watch people do "bombs" off of.
Beautiful White Sand Beach. Lost of shaded area. Plenty of car park (probably went on a good day) Definitely going back.
As the school holidays for term 1 2021 commences, there will be a lot more activity at the maraetai beaches. This means that the entire road extending past te pene beaches will also be congested. I would probably avoid it at this time since it won't be the full experience of maraetai beach. The stores in front of the beach are on the expensive side but that is the price to pay for accessibility and convenience. If it does rain during the day, the number of visitors to the beach over the weeks may drop as expected but I still would stay clear od the beach at this time.
Lovely spot about 40 mins out of Auckland. The day was glorious, the water lovely. Would recommend for a nice afternoon... Don't forget to take your picnic basket.
AWESOME DAY NEEDS MORE PARKING NEAR SHOPS BUT WE MANAGED TO PARK UP AND HAVE A LITTLE PICNIC FURTHER DOWN THE BEACH WITH SHADE
Awesome place for a swim/ family friends day out. Long stretch of beach to walk with public toilets and a playground. The sea life is growing since covid. One of my favourite beaches in auckland
Beautiful spot with some nice cafés. Decent parking but can fill up on a nice day
