Stopped here to have lunch and tried to take my son to the bathroom first and he's 3 and was busting and lady said no I have to buy food first or no toilet. Brought a 2 dollar chocolate bar so my 3 year could go to the toilet, changed my mind about buying lunch there after that and went somewhere else. Which looks like a good decision after seeing the other reviews. Very rude lady.

Always awesome. Great food. Lovely lady at the front...been going here for years. Never disappointed...our favourite pitstop for a fulfilling meal.
The best steak and mushroom toasties either
I stopped here due to early morning sun strike. It was busy with early morning drivers including tractors and trucks. The place is basic but a good kiwi menu. I had a good strong cup of tea till the sun rose a little higher. I give it 5 stars because it's not pretentious, it delivers what's written on the box. Huge carpark and reliable food. Next trip I might forgoe breakfast at home and try a kiwi breakfast. It looked great as being eaten by two fellow travelers.

We ordered 3 lots of pancakes & hashbrowns and they were my biggest regret!! The pancakes tasted like they were cooked 3 days ago and microwaved then drenched in maple syrup... The hashbrowns were old and overcooked. Never going back there again. Not to mention the toilets were horrifying! The hand wash smelt like dead rodent. Will never go back there again.
The woman behind the counter is such a nasty person, has no appreciation for customers. Yelled at a lady and her 6 year old daughter just for asking where the toilet was. They were paying customers! The child had done nothing wrong but was made to feel it was her fault! I have since read the other reviews and it seems she picks on families with children! If you have such hatred for your paying customers why do you run a business? There is no excuse for demanding Kiwis hard earned money with one hand and intimidating them with the other. There are a couple of really nice cafes within a few minutes drive from there, I would strongly recommend you check those places out. I look forward to your reply if you have the integrity to write one.
The worst customer service we have ever experienced! We went in for lunch after being on the road for a hour and my 4 year old daughter was busting for the toilet! The lady was So rude I have never experienced anything like it. She refused to let us use the toilet until we brought something, so we left and went to the next cafe down the road! There is a reason there is never any cars out front and no one goes there!
