Well restored. History with photos inside. Fascinating piece of history. A great scheme providing mills for Maori communities.

Well worth stopping for. It's not just some old ruin or decrepit chimney, but has been restored and you can scramble around inside it. The millstones are there and there are informative display panels.

Lovely little place with lots of information boards about the flour mill. It's only a minute walk from the road if that

Good drive down the river valley. :) Step walk to mill :( This is rebuilt in style of old mill. I just wonder where they grew the wheat to mill it. The is built in ravine. So is most of valley. I saw be hives on other side of river and ask how do they get to them??

The most underrated tourist stop on this road. Absolutely worth a stop. Restored beautifully with plenty of pictures and illustrations. Quite a lot of history here.

A fabulous, unsuspecting spot, and completely unmanned. We would have completely missed it had we not wanted to stop at the time. We went for a short walk down the hill and were thrilled with the mill and so glad we found it.

Wonderfully historic old mill with a waterwheel. Solid old timbers and the scent of times gone by. Upstairs is various machinery of the times and displays showing how it was. There is a small pathway to the stream where you can see how the water ran and another leading to a toilet (bring own toilet paper). There is also a small two-bedroom cottage where the millers lived. It is a lovely quiet place to have lunch. Be aware that the path leading down to it is quite steep.
