Deliciously unusual and delightfully friendly. I loved the two vegetarian dishes we had. I loved the conversation with the lady running the place. I loved the unusual decor. I loved that it wasn't the same flavours or even the same experience that you get in every Auckland restaurant. Yum.

Amazingly home-prepared mexican food, packed with flavour and thoughtful touches. Bit of a kitschy interior aesthetic, but that just adds to the charm. Granny who runs/owns the place will treat you like family!
You're in for an experience coming here, food is great and Grandma, who runs the place, is lovely if a little confronting when you order. If she starts telling you what you should have it might be a good idea just to go along with it, you won't be disappointed and the bill won't be too big. Also don't be in a rush,, both times we have been she's been the only one working so was a little slow, but better than a few much better staffed places I can think of.
Had a beef taco from here and it looked so good and tasted amazing. Run by this adorable grandma who calls you honey made me miss my own.
Such a surprise to find this again after many years, and to enjoy authentic, and traditonally served Mexican fare. Small and perfectly formed. This is how we should eat out.
I had the beef (eye fillet medium rare) taco and it was amazing. “Grandma” the owner, chef and waiter also made me a homemade lime, mint, cucumber drink which is undoubtedly one of the most refreshing drinks I have tasted. Can’t speak highly enough of this place which oozes authenticity. If your thinking of coming do it.
Very tasteful food, great environment, creative decoration, good food options. The only thing - the food portion is quite small for an amount like 17 bucks. The granny, differently from what the previous comments say, she's from Thailand and not Mexican. We had a nice chat with her, she's lovely.
