If you are looking for delicious food then this is the place. It's not a family restaurant but more of a fancy date night place. It's quite expensive but the food is really good. The highlight for me was the seafood chowder! 10/10. It's right near the water so it was a nice view. The service was friendly.

It’s located near the ocean. So you could go outside and see the ocean from the restaurant. Surprisingly the food they serve very good. Not much selections but all of the food they serve very good. I would recommend to eat here

I made a reservation here for a special occasion and dropped off a homemade cake to the restaurant a day early. They were fantastic, everything about their professionalism and politeness was outstanding. We ordered two loafs to share, the vegetarian fettuccine, pork belly, seafood platter to share, and a side of roasted vegetables, as well as a bottle of sparkling wine. The food was divine, cooked beautifully and all bought out the same time too. We were given plenty of time to decide what we wanted, and the food was bought out in a timely manner. Overall the food, quality, presentation of the establishment was top quality.

This is NOT fining dinning. Disappointing. The food was ok but over priced. The service was ‘strange’. Kind of like Fawlty Towers! If Mokoia said it was based on pub grub then it would be fine but adding a white table cloth and charging more does not make fine dinning.

My daughters and I dined 27 July, disappointing. The service was good but the food, for a "fine" dining restaurant was very average. The seafood platter was underwhelming and not really enogh for 2. I had the King Ora salmon which was overcooked and under seasoned. We didn't complain as we were hungry and couldn't wait another 30 or more minutes for replacements. Not sure if I would recommend or go there again.

Overpriced. Overwhelmingly “meh”. Had the scallop appetizer which was 20 for 3 small scallops and some slaw, which was okay but not worth the price and something I could have cooked better myself. Had the 40 lamb for a main which was tasty but at 10/piece I felt it should have been “more”. More of what? I’m not sure, but the meal was pretty disappointing. The restaurant itself felt like it was trying to be (and therefore charge) more than it was.

Super delicious food. We had the seafood plate to share and it was surprisingly wondeful, from presentation to the taste (just a tad sweet, but generally super). Good combination of everything. Great creativity, chef!!!! Duck entree (appetizer) was awesome, and apple strudel dessert was delectable too. Staff was very friendly despite the fact that we were under-dressed. Price was very reasonable. Best restaurant in New Zealand amongst the ones we tried on our 8-day journey, even better than food in Auckland and Wellington. Highly recommend.
