My absolute favourite place in the world to go to the movies! Cheapest place ever for families, at 40 for family of 2 adults and 2 kids (Check age limit online). Very friendly and polite staff. Clean, beautiful premises with an old school vibe that is deliberately charming. Food and drinks are priced up, just like everywhere else, so if you're hungry have a meal first next-door, before arriving for your movie, then maybe just buy a bucket of popcorn to share when you get there. Make sure you get your tickets and popcorn at least 20 minutes prior to your movie starting, as the queue for the ticket counter is often long and it can take 10-15 minutes to reach the counter. If you risk leaving it to the last minute to arrive, and you are wanting to see a popular movie, chances are that it will be sold out by the time you reach the ticket counter. So be early!!! All the theatres have beautiful large comfy chairs, which my NZ size 16 frame can easily sink into, and there's lots of leg space. Fantastic! The Monterey is a great place to hold a kids birthday party for 2-3 hours. You're allowed to bring your own birthday cake to share in the cafe area, and then you boomerang them back to their parents without having had to do anything except watch a movie and hand out buckets of popcorn and fizz drink lol! Awesome! The price is very reasonable.

Really wonderful little cinema - highly recommended if you prefer high quality, boutique movie theaters. Went on a Monday night and had the whole theater to ourselves! Has wine, popcorn, sweets, and ice creams for sale
What a 'quaint' little hide away this was for Me. Dine-In option before screening. Food was delish.People were Welcoming Service & snack foods on par. Then go in to theater & find only 6 x people to view tonight-fantastic. Enjoyed the night with the Gf's.
We had a wonderful experience watching a movie there. The staff are friendly, kind and very helpful. The atmosphere was great. The sound was good. We will definitely be going there again.

Good value for money! We used Grabone voucher & if air con was on in cinema would have been heaps better
Great movie. Surround sound was a bit out of whack though. They made us sit against the wall at the back. We thought the theatre was fully booked with limited seating. Turns out it was less than half full and we could have had better seats in the middle.
Only one person serving food, tickets and everything and we've been in the line for more then 20 minutes ending up late to the movie. Plus the phone was ringing continuously. Bad management
