Clean facilities, beautiful views, best camping site in Taupo. Would highly recommend Motutere Bay.

Decent park, we enjoyed our stay in late August. Thought road noise at the lake front might bother us so we opted for a hillside site and had no problems; we later saw they offer free ear plugs in reception. Still had a good view of the lake and were close to facilities on the hill. Not the best Top10 we’ve stayed at but it did the job. Large kitchen and lounge. Hosts were friendly and accommodating as we arrived after the office closed. Good wifi. Wished the path between showers, toilets and kitchen was continuously paved for safer walking at night. Also toilets and showers (separate buildings) are open so could be quite cold in the winter.

Property is situated in a stunning location with beautiful views over the lake. Facilities well maintained, room was clean and beds nice n comfy. Staff were also really friendly. We enjoyed our stay and wished we had booked longer. Definitely be back.

This campsite has the most amazing views of the lake but beware that the campsite is split by the main road and the lake view comes at a cost of the noise from the traffic. We moved into the main site which was a lot quieter. Overall it's a very dated site which is undergoing a renovation. Great if you have 50 kids on a camp weekend The facilities are fine and you have everything you need even if a little dated. Actual met the new manager who was a great guy with big plans so expect the site will get better over time. This site is about the natural beauty around it and if into fishing you on a winner
