Michael Hill at Bayfair is a lovely store- full of beautiful jewellery but their greatest asset is their staff. So welcoming and helpful; nothing is too much trouble for them when making sure customers get exactly what they want

Disappointed to say the least, went to get my wife's engagement ring resized, suppose to be down one size from M to L. Got it back to discover was so small it didn't fit, found out the jeweller read the L as a I (4 sizes smaller, even though the request form said " l for love" , it was in lower case which didn't help but the love should have been obvious) they sent it back as urgent to re-resize it .. A week had passed and heard nothing, popped in to see if it was there, turns out it arrived the day before but nobody had rang (got told "lucky you came in because now its been filed we wouldn't have rang you")... Inspected the ring and the band had been terribly stretched 4 sizes back out to size L. The lower section was uneven and extremely thin. They hadn't filled it in with more gold to even it out. Once again it got sent off to get fixed.. Picked up the ring today, looks better finally but can tell it has been tampered with because they had to install whole new band. 2 unnecessary visits for a procedure which should have been simple. It was us the customer who discovered both faults upon first inspections. Spoke to the manager directly and gave our feedback and recommendations for quality control in store to make sure all is OK before calling the customer (or not calling) etc, all we got was sorry. No attempt to try make things better or cheer us up with some sort of compensation for all time /petrol and unnecessary visits we have had to deal with. I know it wasn't the people in store directly who caused the issues but the jewellers they send to are associated with Michael Hill so as a customer it is all the same.
