Great option for a fast service with tasty food. Wide variety of Japanese sushi ready available to pick it up from the counter. It was fresh and delicious when we visited on 4th of January 2018. Located at the heart of Mount Maunganui, opens late and satisfies belly and soul. You pick your favorite drink from the fridge beside the cashier. No toilets for the public. Watch for birds trying to steal your food.
Best sushi shop in Tauranga and Mount Maunganui. The sushi are very delicious, fresh and reasonably priced, ranging from 1 to 2.80 per piece. Crumbed chicken, sweet chicken skewers and cal chicken rolls are personal favourites. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available, must try the vegan pumpkin sushi and spring roll sushi. 5 minute walk to the beach so great for after swim lunch. Friendly service. Would definitely recommend!
I've eaten sushi all around the world with the exception of Japan, and as someone who grew up on San Francisco sushi my standards are extremely high but this is hands down the best gourmet sushi i have ever eaten in my life, it almost makes me want to live in Tauranga, almost, its that good.
Amazing, often sushi places are hit and miss, but mount sushi has a generous sushi size and are literally packed with filling. I’m really glad I found this place
