The home I bought was left filthy with lawns overgrown. My cleaner told me it was over a year’s worth of filth. I was offered half the cleaning and lawn costs by the agent. There was damage to doorways and doors from the owner moving out which hadn’t been there pre inspection but the agent told me he didn’t go back to the property after the pre inspection so I had no chance to take action pre settlement. I am now in a position where I have to pay for leak damage under a sink, and pay for doorways and doors to be fixed. As a comparison, I sold my house through harcourts. My agent would never have let me leave my home in such a filthy condition - neither would I.

I had an issue in applying for a place where my application was not accepted, a fact I didn't know until I arrived at the rental place (which I was asked to go to as early as 55 minutes before the time of the viewing). This took away some time from my day and was certainly an inconvenience. After this, I laid a complaint via their website (sometime after 2pm). At 4:45pm, i got a phone call in response to the email with a sincere apology and confirmation that the person organising the viewing would know of this complaint. I really appreciate that. I imagine that the initial experience was a misstep, and that the team are more like the person I talked to on the phone; honest, organised, and helpful.
