So yet again after requesting NO SALT at time of order and paying. Get home and guess what SALT ! The food is great just lacks staff listening and getting it right! This is the second time in a row. Yes I know it’s unusual not to want salt but when you shell out 30 you expect what you ask for.

Such a beautiful wee establishment proven to be very popular and was extremely busy at 2pm on a Thursday afternoon. We expected quite a lengthy wait and with having a 6 year old in tow, we're pleasantly surprised to have only waited approx 20 MINUTES, unfortunately that was the best part our meal was overcooked and very greasy (obviously wasn't left to drain long enough) and our battered oysters were rubbery and chewy. Just another average feed of fish and chips.
Excellent fish and chips. The wait is long but you can phone through orders and if you place an order in store, they will text you when ready. Prices are high for blue cod, but it is delicious. Good service as well.
I was here with my friends from nelson who claimed they had the best fish and chips here. And I must say it was perfect. I had the cod. I have had it in the UK and in Vancouver but this was the best I have tasted so far. Not strange as it is quite fresh with Nelson close by.
Went for fish and chips last night, hadn't been here in a while because the last time the food was too greasy. It was very busy as expected so longer wait time but the food was again very disappointing. The food was so incredibly oily. The chips were actually worse than the fish! This used to be the best place to go but less than average now. Real shame.
Best fish and chips! We had the blue cod, chips and squid rings. All were fantastic. Sat next door at Rimu wine bar to eat the fish and chips and enjoy a wine tree :) Greag systems at the Smokehouse and you can easily see the wait time, so, you know when to come back from exploring the lovely views and shops nearby
Wait time was not too bad. A dollar and 10 cents for a single onion ring is a bloody rip off. The onion ring was also tiny and didnt taste great.
