Awesome place to jam round on bikes with the kids, play ground, ducks (free duck food), massive glass house, random blue train thing - 1 buck per kiddo, under 2 were free, 3 per adult, cafe, great walks, fantastic grounds. Just a good time definitely a must do for families trying to fill in time!

Great gardens! It's a lovely place to walk, play, or sit and relax. They have some lovely benches on the hill where you can sit and watch the sunset. Kids love it, playing with ducks by the pond, visiting the birds in the aviary up the back or they can complete organised trails, spotting things on the way. There's also a cafe. Just a really lovely garden!!
Love this place. Great to visit any time of the year. Was drawn to see the stinky plant, went back multiple times to see the changes. Depending on how I feel and the season dictates where I might spend the time. Lovely walks either on the flat or you can go up the hill..
Best botanical garden I have ever visited in my life. Extremely well looked after. A pity dogs are not allowed in any part of it. Such a shame, really! All family should be able to enjoy such a space - if you don't allow dogs on the leash, why do you not also prohibit the access to the rude people that litter or the unruly kids that literally jump on the plants?
Definitely in my top 3 free places in Dunedin, I love the gardens. There's always a new corner to explore even when you think you've seen it all. Fantastic location for a picnic, family outing, or date.
Really nice, however not at all near as impressive as the Hamilton Gardens. But still had a nice stroll and enjoyed all the flowers. Don't forget to check out the bird park which has a few native and exotic birds.
Not very interesting gardens to look at. The themed ones such as the African or Mediterranean ones were interesting. Many parts of the park didn’t seem well maintained. Long grass growing. Although it’s a nice place to walk around and look at things. Queens park is a bit better in my opinion. Would love to see some better thought of plantings of flowers and some gorgeous garden art
A beautiful and extensive outdoor garden with an indoor section housing a rare corps plant. We were lucky enough to see it in bloom. Highly reccomend this botanic garden for a midday stroll or after dinner walk.
