I've always had great service from the team at MEC Mt Eden. They even arranged for a warranty job to be done on a Specialized bike I own even though I was not the original owner. Workshop service is good and reasonably prompt with good communication. Good range of bikes and accessories usually, maybe a little compromised in these 2020 pandemic times but what bike shop in the world isn't.

Bought a specialized stumpjumper Evo from there end of 2020. The kid I spoke to was super friendly and helpful. But when I went to pick up the bike on my second visit, I was unfortunately treated like a complete newbie. It was painful to listen to this other guy explain to me why a shock pump is a good idea after I asked for one. I get that the guy was trying to be helpful, and I'm new to the shop having just moved to Auckland, but without bothering to first find out about my riding background and experience and just assuming I knew nothing about bikes was just painfully patronizing. It really put me off returning to the store again even if I bike past it everyday to go to work.

Great range of bikes and gear. Staff on the shop floor are always helpful and very knowledgeable. Mechanics know what they’re doing too. Excellent local bike shop!
