My wife and I travelled on their oldest ferry Wednesday 24th March 2021 from Paihia to Russell and by the time we arrived we had many black soot marks on our clothes from the engine below. We noticed quite a few black spots on the inside of the main cabin where we sat and on the floor , and we were furious as our white clothes had black spots all over them. We informed the skipper but he wasn't interested.

Beautiful trip from Paihia to Russell. This trip was fantastic and provided me with some scenic views over this short trip. The staff members are friendly and helpful from the start till the end. They provide you information off the beautiful area and the history of Russell or Paihia. It is perfect for your friends and family and for the young and old. So for now I really recommend this beautiful trip.

A happy ferry as the name suggests. Saw dolphins swim round the boat as we left Russell today, magic! What a great start to the day.

a very nice place to visit. . we were here in 2007, a boat is what you have to do here. dolphins along the boat. a lunch on an island. is special. i loved it .. just do it.. The Bay of Islands is a New Zealand enclave encompassing more than 140 subtropical islands next to the country's North Island. It’s known for its undeveloped beaches, big-game fishing and Maori cultural artefacts. It's also home to the 19th-century whaling port of Russell, whose waterfront promenade is lined with remnants from its days as the country’s first colonial capital.

This was a great way to spend an afternoon in Bay of Islands. Took a ferry from Paihia to Russel, go to the museum, stroll along the beach, walk up to Flagstaff Hill and back to Paihia via ferry. I watched people catching fish, as I admired the sunset. It was dark by the time I took the return ferry. But this was equally enchanting. Went up to the rooftop to immerse myself in the star-filled sky. Highly recommend!

Fantastic service. The i-site stuffed up and charged us for a return fare when we only wanted 1-way. The skipper refunded us in cash when boarding.
