Health Hub Project New Zealand, established in September 2015, is a new population health care and health education initiative for Palmerston North, the Manawatu, and Horowhenua. Essentially, a grassroots initiative, it operates as a not-for-profit charitable trust, implementing into action national and international health research findings, and New Zealand Government health policy, to facilitate, support and promote population Health and well-being locally, regionally and nationally. The name, Health Hub, is to signify that, while organised around a centrally organised core of activities in a central location, HHPNZ in reality also employs community outreach, inter-organisation collaboration, and joint venture arrangements to achieve its objectives. The process, in its turn welcomes and requires external stakeholder and partner critique, and suggestions for improvement to enable the diffusion of ideas and practice, and continuous improvement.
