If I could give a zero I would. Small portions, bland meals and highly over priced. However the icing on the cake was the rude, arrogant and unprofessional host. Other reviews have highlighted her behavior too and with good reason. There are FAR better options in Kapiti than here so I'd recommend dining elsewhere if anything just to avoid the toxic host.

We got the chicken kebabs Dry as sin. Got the salmon cakes stone cold. Got the lamb meal bland dry n not much lamb. Roti was good and that was it. Waiste of 51 and wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend

Hi There , Just anted to mention the experience Had a quick visit to Paraparaumu -Kapiti the other day , was a good summer time for drive , and was damn hungry , luckily visited "Banana Leaf Malaysian Restaurant " which was one of bucket list to taste "Malaysian Food ", had a good time , with *** CHEF - Devi ( Duty Manager ) *** , very kind , professional and enthusiastic CHEF - suggested me chicken ( ps the pic ) , it was so tasty absolute type of "KFC chicken - with Special ingredients of Malaysian style also had rice and chicken curry was so delicious .over all good taste , fantastic customer service , 100% Recommended - To Have a good time visit " Banana Leaf Malaysian Restaurant

The nasi lemak was decent. Anchovies and peanuts were nice and crunchy. Coconut rice was fragrant and sambal was flavourful and sweet. The Char Kuay Tiaw lacked the smokiness that this dish is known for. It was too salty for our taste. But the server kindly replaced our dish when requested. Food is priced around 7-8 more than what they would normally be.
