Would NOT recommend HMC Kapati. It appears like a nice family run business but the customer service lets it down. Kyle James was rude and felt like he didn't care for our service, untrustworthy. Will be going elsewhere unfortunately.

I bought a Kia Seltos and experienced great service overall despite the wait with getting my new toy!

It’s with much regret that I’m having to write this review, but I feel I have to say this. I purchased the car for over 8K along with my son Jarrod who posted the earlier review. HMC sold the Mini through Otaki Cars, apparently they have an arrangement to sell HMC's cheaper cars. There was an issue a few weeks just outside the warranty where the timing belt broke damaging the motor. Dave from Otaki Cars informed us that the vehicle was not his problem and it had been supplied by HMC Kapiti. He did arrange a loan vehicle through Kyle at HMC, the loan vehicle was a recent trade in and the brakes, lights and fuel gauge were faulty. This was pointed out to Kyle, however his reply was something along the lines of 'it has a warrant and Jarrod should be thankful that he has a loan car’. There are two issues that we have with HMC. 1) the loan car along with it’s Health and Safety faults. 2) there were two excesses of 300 each charged on the insurance bought through HMC to repair the motor. The mechanic said that this was unfair, even Dave at Otaki Cars agreed. The best way to sort it out was to go through HMC as they sell a lot of these policies for the insurance company. Daniel said he would look into it but did nothing so Jarrod posted a review. Jarrod's employer had tried to work out a solution as he could see that Jarrod was unhappy at work. He negotiated with Dave at Otaki Cars where Dave agreed to pay half of one of the excesses and Daniel at HMC agreed to pay the other half. Dave at Otaki Cars paid his 150 portion, whereas Daniel changed his mind and wanted Jarrod to remove his review prior to paying his half. Daniel, you are a bully … and please take this to court as we would like you to do this. We are also looking at our options with the MVDT and some friends have suggested we should take it to Fair Go.

Just purchased a new car from this dealership. They are excellent to deal with and I am glad that I did go to them in Paraparaumu even though I live in Wellington. I will certainly continue to use them.

Through I was buying a car from these guys as I got it in Otaki but as soon as there was a problem it was nothing to do with them they did loan me a car with no fuel gauge working or temperature gauge and brakes the electric were dodgy at best lights would just turn on with out warning make sure you get everything in writing as they don’t keep their word
