Brought in our own fresh fish to have cooked up , there was no charge to cook it which is really good but when we received our whole order we we find out there was no fish at all in our order. Had to go back and turns out they gave our fresh fish away to someone else. Replaced it with some of their own fish which was only maybe half the size of our original fresh fillets. A few other customers while we were waiting also had the wrong orders and had to go back so looks like that’s a common thing for them. Will never go back again

Had fish n chips. Price acceptable for being at the beach,will I go back NO. Wait was too long ( over 50 min) fish was over cooked ( fresh tarakihi) chips was tasteless. Thanks but no thanks again

I’m thinking that this place has changed owners. We have loved visiting this shop over the years getting both ice creams and fish and chips. Yesterday, we got both and it was an abysmal experience. The server was unable to identify the ice cream flavours, asking us to do it for him. The sizing of the ice creams in the past have been one of the attractions. These ice creams were a disappointing pat of ice cream on a cone. The fish and chips took 40 minutes (we were told it would be 15). We ordered a hot dog but got a burnt sausage type object (no batter or sauce) that even the teenagers with us would not eat. The serving sizes were small and disappointing. As we were entertaining visitors to New Zealand, this was quite embarrassing. Definitely need to find a new ice cream shop.

The fish and chips were great really crispy and the fish was cooked to perfection. The service though is not so great waited about 25 mins and it was not that busy about 3 other people were there at the time, and when I went to ask about my order it turns out they handed my order to someone else. So I waited another 15 mins bare in mind all I ordered was two pieces of fish and a side of chips so I cannot recommend based on my experience.

Fish and Chips price is a bit higher than the average. However, the price is well justified as fish is crunchy in the outside yet juicy in the inside. The chips compliments well with the fish at it is crunchy as well on the outside and seasoned with just the right amount of salt. It is served with tangy lemon wedges. It is worth a try for your go to comfort food. They also have creamy and sweet assortment of ice creams, a perfect dessert to enjoy while strolling under the sun-drenched sea shore.

Multiple bones in multiple pieces of fish that my children found. Chips were terrible, brown and over cooked. Fish burgers, had more relish than bun and fish. Wont be going back.
