Went to kitchen appointment today. Met with Dean from Porirua store. Very friendly, well informed, great ideas. Their range is great, really clever solutions and got the design done within a hour. Definitely recommend an appointment

The customer service I received at the "Trade department" in Mitre 10 Porirua was extremely poor. I don't intend on shopping there again. I went in to order/purchase items. The person at the counter was new and had no idea how to take my order. He tried looking around for a senior staff but there was no one around. He then called over another staff member who was doing nothing, who decided to leisurely stroll to the counter. He also had no idea about taking the order. I told them I had called before I came and was told to come here and place the order as it could not be done online. I insisted on paying for the items as I do not live close by, but they said that I don't need to pay for the order, they would put it through and once it arrives in store I have to come in and pay. Three days later I decided to call to confirm that my order was placed, only to be told that the order was not placed and they can only place the order once I come in and pay. I asked the staff if someone who knows what to do will be available and he assured me there will be. I then had to make another trip to the store to pay. On arrival the same newish staff member tried to assist me but was still not 100% sure and again there were no senior staff on site to help. Finally, I placed the order and paid and made it clear that someone needs to contact me before the items are delivered as I work and they are too large for me to move and I need to arrange to be at home to open the garage. A week later, I arrived home at 10pm to find the 9 bails of Pink batts scattered on my lawn. I then had to try and move all these bails into the garage at 10pm at night even though I had paid for delivery. There were no calls at all prior to this to say that they were going to deliver the items.

Awesome products but staff around the aisles need to be more engaging & helpful with customers, & not look like they don't want to be there. The information desk staff are great & at the front counter. Cafe staff are polite & courtesy & the vege quiche is delicious.

Great to have a cafe for feeding the kids after they've been dragged round the store for what seems like hours (actually 3.5 minutes). Did work out something useful when looking for odd bits when all the staff were too busy to ask. Goto the website, find your part online and it will tell you which section to look in. Or just hit click and collect and spend more time relaxing in the cafe? :)

Went to Mitre 10 after a purchase at Bunnings, where we hadn't had a great experience. The team were friendly, quick, and helpful, and seemed to genuinely enjoy working there. Bailey was patient with me and my group, and we left with exactly what we needed to finish our project. Cheers Mitre 10! Won't be going to Bunnings again :)

The service desk staff are clueless and rude to boot. Such a shame as it's a great store with a wide range of stock and I'd shop here otherwise but on principle, I now shop at Bunnings. I note I'm not the only customer who is extremely disappointed in the customer service at this store...
