At the end of last year I bought a classic WRX STI v5 GC8. Some bad luck (though to be expected of a JDM performance car 21 years old) I ran in to head gasket troubles driving it back from the South Island. I immediately made contact with PBMS and spoke to Patrick Frick (Managing director) Even as busy as their workshop is they were able to start on it right away which I appreciated greatly. Patrick was very knowledgeable and helpful and even though I probably pestered him a lot throughout the repair he always remained enthusiastic and kept me up to date at every turn. I ended up doing a full v7 short block build with "all the goodies". The quality of the workmanship was outstanding. Being a diesel mechanic myself I have some idea what to look for and I could tell these guys know their stuff and do everything to fullest. I would never have been able to do this repair/build to the level of quality that they have. Not only was Patrick great but his team were equally great. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Daniel even let me sit in with him while he tuned my car on the dyno which was an awesome experience. (Highly recommend Daniel) Last but not least they always use quality parts made in the UK/US/AUS (Not China) Now I have peace of mind that I have a well built, solid and reliable engine that should last me a long time. I will never take my car anywhere else as long as I own it. Thomas

I can’t recommend PBMS enough! Patrick and the team are super friendly and helpful. They tuned my 2011 WRX with minor bolt-ons to 219KW at the wheels, way more than I was expecting! They also went the extra mile to tune in a few pops/bangs and sometimes, flames! I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out . If you’re looking for an experienced, knowledgeable and well-priced place to tune your Subaru, PBMS is the place to go!

Really impressed with the tune PBMS did for my Legacy GT. The car drives smoother than factory and made some good power gains with a couple of bolt on mods. Thanks guys :)
First of all a big thank you to Patrick and the team for their help on tuning my car. If you're looking for a tuner, this is the place to go! They treat you like family and make you feel at ease with any questions you have! The hospitality is amazing from the team and they help you understand how the car will perform with the tune given. I have a custom tune and the team did an awesome job on attending to my needs. The prices are fair and reasonable as they have high quality workmanship and experience in the field with working/tuning cars. If you want something specific speak your mind and the team will listen and even provide feedback so you can have your car tuned to your specification. The tunes and work are done safe and conservatively so you don't put stress on your engine/turbo etc, keep up the awesome work PBMS! I'll be coming back for more!
