An absolutely beautiful beach! We visited here almost every day when we were in the Raglan area to enjoy the views and walk along the beach. There is plenty of parking at several grassy park areas on the hills overlooking the beach where you can relax and have lunch, dinner, or enjoy some drinks while taking in the amazing panoramic views. There are multiple walking paths and stairways for access down to the beach, and it is well worth the little way to go down there and enjoy the wide expanse of sand and surf. One of the most enjoyable beach areas that we visited in New Zealand, and I’m sure that we will return wherever possible MK

This is a piece of heaven with some good look-out points that allows for stunning photo's! One of cleanest pit toilet facilities we've seen in a long time. Don't miss this one!

Yes, what a pleasure to walk along the shores of this beach in Raglan. The day was blustery as the warm westerly winds blew across the sands yet, refreshing as the cool waters hit your feet. Overtime, body temperature adjust to the sea water as it continues to come in waves. Sometimes just, barely reaching the path as walk along the shores. Pick up shells, seaweed and their rubber like texture or, driftwood feeling their smooth textures from the constant blast from the ocean. Surfers, swimmers and people just enjoying the walk and the fresh sea air gives you a sense of wellness and grounding, away from the chaos of the everyday grind.

We walked down to the beach from the Bryant Memorial Scenic Reserve track. The beach is quite big but it wasn't too busy. We were there when it was overcast which could have played a part. The main lifeguard tower was very visible from the beach. We strolled in that direction on the black sand. It was an enjoyable walk. There wasn't much shade along the beach so it would be good to bring something if you were planning on staying out there for a while. It looked like it was an uphill climb to get to the carpark from the beach. The waves were fairly big and there were quite a few people out on board which is not surprising. We didn't go for a swim this time around but it did look like a nice place to try to surf.

Absolutely stunning place! The view from the top has to be one of the best scenic landscapes for any beach in NZ IMO. There are multiple carparks here and the walk to the beach goes down via a tarmac rd so the walk back can be a little tiring if one is not used to climbing gradients. There were plenty of surfers here and from what I saw no swimmers, you would have to be skilled to swim safely at this time of year.

Great place for surf... Daughters lean to surf in a 2 hour session.. Great and busy beach.. Life guards added bonus and spectacular views...bit of a steap walk down but don't let that keep you back !!!!

Fantastic beach with black sand. Kids love the place but when you return back to car park you have to clime the hill. :)
