This cafe sits right by Lake Tarawera. We often visit the moana swimming and walks. Picturesque place to sit and dine. Enjoy a ice cream plus have a lovely peaceful break away.

I was told to go here by one of the locals and was so glad I did! The restaurant is almost on the water with plenty of seating outside to watch the beautiful scenery. The ambience is relaxing and earthy, with a lovely set up of wooden tables and chairs and steel art. The service was friendly and helpful. I ordered the thai chicken curry which was really delicious. The dumplings were probably my favorite dumplings, the pastry was really thin which is so hard to find! My sister ordered the fish and chips and she said the fish was cooked to perfection and the fish was really fresh. One thing to note, the size of the meals are really generous so it might pay to either share of few of the starters or just head straight to the mains. Both the menu and drinks list is not too big where it's hard to choose. The food menu has a chicken, fish, beef and vegetarian option. Theres plenty of parking but the parking isn't exclusive to the restaurant so i imagine it can get quiet full on a busy summer's day. Also, the toilets inside the cafe were out of order when we were there, they do have a sign referring customers to the outside toilets. Definitely recommend going here when you're in Rotorua or by lake Tarawera for a good feed with great views!

You simply cannot beat great staff in a great location. Made my Dad's 82nd birthday lunch a memorable one. Pan fried snapper and a whiskey, lol, heaven and a view to spark memories of days gone by for him. A rare treat to be able to have full conversations about where we were. Can't thank you enough for the little extra care and delight and served up

I cannot believe this place, it was taken over last year by someone that is just not in touch with our time zone. The food is good and fresh but very stuck in the 70/80's. It is the fact that you don't know when they are open. If you phone for a reservation you are told just come in "no reservations" if they answer...then you phone to see if they are open and you get a message from last year about open from boxing day onwards. Just went there tonight with 12 people and CLOSED what a looser. Could someone please open something at Tarawera or the other close lakes and we will all support them greatly.

The taste of the food was good, however the portion size was quite small given the price. One thing to note is that the menu given is much smaller than the menu on Google, it would be nice for them to update that.
