Great place to know about the Ernest Rutherford "The Second Newton". There are so many stuffs which was used by Rutherford during his masters in Canterbury University and about his life. If you are a science lover than this is the place in Christchurch you must visit.

Fascinating little museum in a beautiful building with a million layers of history. Hands on science exhibits were good, interactive information boards really interesting. But highlight was old lecture room with about 200 years of graffiti carved into the wooden stalls, plus Rutherford’s first little experimental space hidden away beneath the lecture room. Chilled and relaxed, we were the only ones looking round when we were there. Recommended.

Nice exhibits. Lovely old lecture theatre. The actual den is an empty basement. Maybe fill it with some period scientific instruments. History will forgive you. I'd been meaning to go here for years, and I wasn't disappointed. But I'm not sure I'd recommend it either.
