I can certainly recommend Hamish from Lake Rotoiti Water Taxis. Nice guy and personable. He gave us a short talk on the history of the Lake, it geology, the people etc. Dropped us at the Whiskey Falls boat ramp and picked us up 20 minutes later. He then ferried us to the other side of the lake and dropped us off so we could walk out on the track ending in the Kerr Bay carpark.

Nice place on the Kerr Bay of Lake Rotoiti. At the jetty you can watch ducks, fish and fat eels. From the jetty you can admire a wonderful panorama. Mountains sloping to the right and left to the center lead to distant snow-covered mountain peaks. The beach is stony, the toilet is clean.

Stunning lake, beautiful mountains in the background. Stunning in winter, stunning in summer. We stop here whenever we're in the area and it's always spectacular. Ducklings in the summer, eels in the winter, and so much more to do. The mountain climb above is a must do if you have time! This is also where I got my cool shot of the lake, the mountains and the wharf; the image I use for many things including my Google profile pic.

Been here in Summer and Winter. Stunning anytime of year. Big beautiful Eels under the wharf. One piece of advice. If visiting anytime BEWARE OF SANDFLIES! Worst time is Summer. Pack insect repellent.

The most stunning place ever, there are toilets and the water is good to swim in. The ducks are quite viscous and will peck at you for food. You will also get attacked by sand flies but it's worth it because this place is so pretty.
