A lovely surprise on the inland road. Beautiful coffee and great service. Delicious cheese rolls. Big but not heavy and the broccoli blue cheese and walnut tart is to die for and I won’t even mention the carrot cake.. Yum. Heading south look out for the coffee cup painted on the roof..! Well worth the stop..!!

Want to sample the best coffee in mid Canterbury? Then take a drive out to the Staveley Store. Nestled beneath the forested slopes of Mount Somers, close to some superb bush walks and alpine hikes, the store is a Staveley institution. Established in 1876 as a general store servicing the surrounding timber mills and farms, the store continues that tradition with its selection of locally-sourced meat, home-baked goods and sausage rolls that are the talk of the county! The Station Farm Shop at the store is the showroom for products produced by Mt Somers Station, and is packed packed full of seasonal farm produce including lamb, venison, veal, honey and small goods; premium wines and olive oil; as well as other premium products sourced from local family owned businesses. But it’s the coffee that is the real drawcard. Sit outside on the verandah and watch the world go by over the rim of your coffee cup. Superb!

A lovely little country oasis for a coffee and/or eats. Good coffee, but most importantly of all, its standards are consistent. I was there 2 years ago and it is still delivering at a good standard. That's so good because it is reliable. When any business is like that then one doesn't have any concerns about recommending it to others.

Very busy for the cafe as lots of people going through from a car event in Timaru. Fabulous cheese roll (will ask to be toasted for a couple of minutes longer next time)and very tasty coffee at an outside table just hit the spot nicely. Will go again.

Arrived on a busy Sunday morning. Noted ...asked for soy coffee and was informed. None available Offered to supply own soy. Grumpy refused. Limited cabinet food and surly responses to requests. Walked away from the place buying nothing and will not return.

Beautiful location, really a hidden gem. One of the best coffees ever and the salad was perfect. Friendly and helpful staff. Drop in if travelling the scenic route through Canterbury. This is a small place and you could miss it. It is well worth finding though. We will be back.
