Really lovely and accomodating staff. However, we are flexible travellers who have visited many backpackers and we didn't feel comfortable with a few things. We found a roaming cockroach on the wall beside our bed, the bathrooms/showers were really in need of a good clean (as did the kitchen and the carpets in the bedroom) and least important but will mention.. one of our beds had seen a few too many years of daily use. These are all things that can easily be fixed with some love and a little bottle of Raid;)

This place felt like coming home. Nice owners and nice hostel. I enjoyed staying here very much.
We stayed here unfortunately just one night, before we did the tongariro crossing. Awesome staff, very friendly and helpful. It's a very nice place, Good value for money.
Great place for groups. Compact kitchen. Lots of space in the rooms. Wood burner with ample wood.
Amazing hostel with a great friendly and helpful owner. The dog is super cute, but also well behaved. Clean rooms, hot shower, big kitchen and lounge and great outdoor area.
Nice budget backpacker. Good quiet location. Enough for a large group of people. Hassle free booking and access.
Really friendly and welcoming place. They were able to help organise transport for the Tongariro Alpine crossing too which was awesome!
