Took the time to check the Pauanui ferry accepted dogs, but had incorrect info on whether the beaches there allowed dogs, in that they hadn't on either side of the peninsula for over a month. Trying to avoid cynicism in that they just wanted us to spend money in the community whilst we were stuck there.

We were passing through and this was a wonderful place to chill out, read, and catch up on some admin. As mentioned in other comments, the volunteer who welcomed us was very friendly and helpful.
