the Pumba

The food isn't that great here. The older owner is rude and disrespectful. We use to buy the tubs of raw fish, they since put them in smaller containers but still charged 5.50. The taro is dry even when in the coconut cream. The tabioka is also dry and sometimes days old. The curry menu also usnt that great, more soup and bones above anything. Just not a really good place to eat.

Met the restaurant owner tonight and bought some of the chicken - really amazing! Great tasting and just tastes so fresh and good. Nice guy!

Ordered a few things from this store in the past and wasn't impressed with the food that had been prepared. Purchased a great deal of their buttered chicken and it tasted more like tomato soup with chicken in it. Also the guy that was cutting the meat out the back, behind what I suspect is to provide some form of incognito; had dropped something on the floor then put it back onto the chopping board. I guess operationally things may have changed since then but that experience has made quite an impression on me.

Lovely taro, palusami, cassava, curry chicken, chopsuey. Food that appeals to my Aitutaki, Manahiki, Samoan side. Heritage food that feeds the soul!!!! Thankyou.
