The nurses and doctors were fantastic for my visit here today, however i think it's about time that Taupo Hospital didn't just upgrade the building, but amount of actual doctors and nurses too. The building industry is creating more property in the region.... but come on upgrade the hospital to accommodate the amount of new patients moving into town as well. Like it or not Taupo is expanding with the amount of people here, it's about time the hospital upgrade in order to accommodate

Squeeky clean entrance.Professional and efficient reception staff. X-ray department on the ball and out in no time at all. Not everyone expects to come here but the staff are fantastic. Swelling and pain under control - thankful to Drs and staff!

Good stuff, helpful, and kind. Like all hospitals, the food needs some work, and the buildings are getting better, but still need some work. Overall, good place to be in.

I only wish I could give 0 stars. Partner and I have went to hospital a few times and there has only been one TRAINING nurse who was professional and actually helped. The rest spoke so loudly about other cases, dismissed me despite me overhearing that I had issues with an ekg (only to have a seizure 2 hours after I left), very rude. Treating su!cidal patients rudely and falsified my most recent discharge. In process of reporting but not happy

Had to visit when my husband came down with an illness that was impacting his breathing & oxygen. Fantastic service by nurse Hayley and Dr Steve - thank you.

I went with my uncle to the emergency department as he had pain after a surgery. Although I can understand they will treat patients in more serve condition but we waited form 9:30 in morning right until 4. This was about 7 hours. I was getting pretty cranky. That amount of wait is ridiculous.

Our daughter got suddenly ill while on holiday in Taupo. Late at night in a strange town there's not many options so we took her to A&E. What we didn't expect was to have the triage nurse tell us we shouldn't of bothered coming in because it was just gastro, that we should have gone to a GP instead. When we got to a room we left the lights off so my daughter could rest and had the nurse come in and turn them on despite our request to leave them off, yet she didn't even stay in the room..... The entire evening was stressful enough but made far worse by a triage nurse who belittled us, was rude and abrasive and showed an absolute lack of empathy, compassion and understanding. Hopefully this review is seen, taken seriously and the staff member involved gets some ongoing training so another family doesn't get the same treatment
