The customer service of this company is disgraceful. I cannot recommend them. We had booked an appraisal and a moving date weeks in advance. 3pm the day before the appraisal and 1 week before the move a phone call was made at 3pm notifying us that they weren't coming to do the appraisal and as they could no longer move us on the agreed date. There was no chance that we could find another company in that time. We were barely able to find a storage unit. The disagreeable women on the phone informed us we should have had multiple companies booked. However in my ignorance I took The Moving Company at their word and didn't book anyone else. When aasked why I was told it was because we didn't sign a contract. I asked if we could sign before an appraisal, they said we couldn't. Instead they can just let us down and caused undue stress during a difficult time. The woman I spoke with was rude and unapologetic. I would've been happy with a ' thank you for the feedback, apologies and we'll look into it'. Be warned

On time but didn't secure the small components of furniture at pick up (so an old mirror lost some irreplaceable parts in transit) and ignored 'fragile - this way up' markings on drop off. Have had better service from cheap shift-a-flat companies.

We used The Moving Company for our corporate move and we were very impressed with how well organised they were. They were very punctual (showing up in the wee hours of the morning in order to ensure Pylon cones were put in place for parking downtown Wellington). The company was supportive and organised and efficient. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good reliable company to move their precious belongings.
