This is the best fishing charter I have ever been on - I have been on another one in Kaikoura & there is no comparison. Steve is super knowledgable & helpful, & we caught some great fish including blue cod. He filleted it all & we had more than enough for a couple of dinners, plus we got a crayfish too. The electric reels are amazing & make it so much more fun, I highly recommend this to anyone looking at going fishing in Kaikoura - it's great value & great fun. Thank you Steve!!

The best fishing charter I have ever done, without a doubt. Super awesome skipper Steve has expert local knowledge, and certainly knows how to catch fish! We caught heaps of Blue Cod and Perch, but also an amazing Ling, two Blue Nose, and even a Hoki! Took home a mountain of fish and a crayfish to boot! Fantastic value for money, even saw some Orca while out. Thanks Steve!!

Honestly had the best time. Highly recommend. Honestly safety first with these guys. Kindness and patience was above and beyond. First timers learnt very well and enjoyed their time. Caught loads of fish. Learnt lots about wild life and equipment. Learnt lots about fish. Smell the blue cod when caught, yes weird but they smell different than just the fishy smell. Learnt so much about bird life and depth of water and loved every moment of it. See you guys for the grouper season.

Going on a fishing trip with Steve on The Rodfather is a must-do in Kaikoura. Steve was very generous with his time and ensured that we had a safe and enjoyable experience. We caught a bunch of crayfish, blue cods, and perch. The fishing trip is suitable for people of all levels of fishing experience. We were particularly impressed by Steve's knowledge and expertise as a skipper, as a fisherman, and as a local guide. This is the best fishing charter in Kaikoura - I will definitely return do it again!

The fishing charter with Steve aka The Rodfather was a highlight of our South island trip. Steve had all the gear and expertise to help us have a successful and safe fishing trip. This was great as we were inexperienced at fishing. We caught a bunch of fish and got plenty of crayfish from Steve's crayfish pots. Overall, the charter was great value and an awesome experience. I would recommend The Rodfather to anyone wanting a fishing experience in Kaikoura

Don't bother trying to get your boat in near the Whale Watch -ramp when their Arrogance shows a 5 star! Move your Vessel for other -boaters! & train the female mother with the loud mouth to behave -herself! sit home & read a book would suit her best! Spoken to another boater from ChCh whom agreed not to sit for 2o minutes we all pay for the use! Not good policy RodFather!.... Obey the rules!

Today we had a blast out with Skipper Steve catching perch and blue cod. With the snow capped Seaward Kaikoura mountains as a backdrop this is an experience much more than just fishing. Seals, seabirds and dolphins all made an appearance. Steve's boat and equipment is excellent, and we knew we were in good hands. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thanks Steve!
