The Royal New Zealand College of Urgent Care (RNZCUC) is a professional body responsible for the training of doctors in the branch of medicine known as Urgent Care. We provide a 4-year fellowship training programme and an ongoing recertification programme for the ongoing education of Urgent Care Fellows. Urgent Care is an independent branch of medicine recognised by the Medical Council of New Zealand. Formed in 1992 as AMPA, the College change its name to Royal New Zealand College of Urgent Care in 2013. New Zealand is currently the only country in the world which recognises Urgent Care, with unique requirements for the training and ongoing recertification of doctors in Urgent Care. The College also works with other organisations to set requirements and standards for the accreditation of Urgent Care facilities.
