I would give no stars if i could...........I am annoyed at the fact its been 5 weeks since my holiday and i haven't received the bond money back. It was a joke going to thrifty since i first arrived. I hired the car through a co-company of yours bliss car rentals and i got turned away at the counter, just lucky for the help desk next door that the lady told me it was thrifty and they should know better, hungry and tired after a bloody long plane flight to then return back to thrifty and be scoffed at by the girl that turned us away in the first place, she continued to give myself and my partner a hard time as we booked online before arriving (this was meant to be the easy option) and then reluctantly handing us the keys ........ 3 HOURS LATER YES 3 HOURS YOU READ THAT RIGHT WE FINALLLYYYYY got the car and NOOOWWWW i don't have my bond money back!!!!! its been such a disaster trying to hire a car from thrifty in the first place, a mistake i wont make again, you can be sure of that. I left the car spotless and returned it full of fuel and i have taken photos to prove it was left in immaculate condition. I would not recommend this company at all from the Auckland airport, do yourself a favor and go to another car hire company.

I find Thrifty car rentals to one of the better rental companies to deal with. At the airport the desk is inside the arrivals Hall with the cars being only a couple of minutes walk away. The reception staff was friendly and didn't try to get me to upgrade so I was happy with that. The car SUV was only a few months old, little milage and clean throughout.

Very good value for the car, no hassle on check in or return. Great free deals if you want to take just 2 days from Wellington to Auckland

The insurance and add-ons are a rip-off. 70 basic rate, plus 52 for insurance PLUS 11 for second driver. Yet they just advertise the base rate when it is just half of the real rate! Beware.
