Tāmaki is New Zealand's largest urban transformation project. The regeneration programme will make Tāmaki an even better place to live, work and play. Over the next 10 to 15 years, we’ll replace 2500 cold, damp social houses in Glen Innes, Point England and Panmure with approximately 7500 social, affordable and private market houses. But the regeneration programme is about more than just building houses. It has four equally important objectives – social transformation, economic development, placemaking and housing resources. Regeneration will deliver warmer, healthier homes and create quality, well planned neighbourhoods with safer, better connected streets. It will also provide jobs and training opportunities and help improve the health and well-being of local people. We’re making the most of what’s already great about Tāmaki. Working with the community, we’ll upgrade town centres, improve parks and community facilities and create better connections between open spaces, neighbourhoods and shops. Tāmaki is an awesome place to be. Tāmaki Regeneration Company (TRC), is jointly owned by the New Zealand Government, 59%, and Auckland Council, 41%.
