Really disappointed with the way I was treated as somebody that is new to the sport & looking to join a gym. The instructor didn’t explain the warm up movements to me & I felt like a complete tool when I couldn’t do one of the movements & she singled me out in front of the class to explain what I was doing wrong. My husband was my partner for the class & at 6ft I had wrongly assumed I needed to use more strength to apply the moves to him. Turns out that’s not the case with BJJ, & I ended up hurting his neck & throat from chokeholds that we’re applied with too much force. I really enjoyed the BJJ aspect & will be joining another gym, but wouldn’t recommend this place for beginners, the instruction & support just isn’t there.
