Went with little to no expectations about the food and service however, pleasantly surprised with how good the service was! The staff was very pleasant, cheerful and nothing was too much trouble for her. She went out of her way to make meals gluten free and checked for any dietary restrictions. The food was good but the service made the dining experience a lot more enjoyable!

Lovely place. Nice campsite but the sites are on very steep slopes for a campsite. Also powered sites are rock hard so no tent camping with power unless you have a big RV. Be aware that you cannot use the kitchens and bathrooms between 11 and 2 which is quite strictly enforced by the staff. First we got notification 3 minutes before 11 that we had to finish breakfast. Then I was requested to leave the shower at 2.10 since they were not ready yet. I understand having to clean but not allowing to use the bathroom for hours on end is a bit too much to ask IMHO. Scenery makes up for some of it.
Awsome place and great service and beautiful views
Love it...rugged coastline and sea for miles... Beautiful part of the country
Situated on the edge of New Zealand, there's a place, this place is called Curio Bay, and at Curio Bay is a fantastic Cafe/Restaurant called Tumu Toka Curioscape. Curioscape is a fantastic place with stunning views and fantastic food, and if that's not enough, there's an excellent interactive museum with a small theatre showing a 10 minute movie of the area, which is definitely worth checking out. If you're going to be in the Catlin's or Southland area. Curioscape is definitely worth a visit.
Awesome natural campground right by the beach. We swam with dolphins on our first swim, an unforgettable experience. I had an amzing meal of eye fillet with rissotto cake and I'm still thinking about it at the restaurant for New years eve dinner, and took a learning journey through The Gateway, an interactive museum. Highly recommend supporting this, great for all ages. Also checked out the petrified Forrest. Heaps to see and do here. Favourite part of our trip through the Catlins so far.
An Oasis of the Catlins for great coffee and a good bite to eat! Lunch is available until 2pm and we made it just in time. The staff are friendly and accommodating. If you are down south in NZ, this is a must stop!
Tumu Toka CurioScape is a place where you can relax, thing and plan your trip in the nice atmosphere. Restaurant & Cafe - breakfast was delicious; coffee was good. It was nice start point even we had rain and cold from early morning. Museum is wonderful. We could enjoy short, high quality films about animals, forest, local people. We were fascinated by the film about things that local people made from ocean algae and tree bark and what ‘ancient fish’ they found in the local rivers! How they live together with nature! My 4 years old daughter was fascinated by everything at the exhibition! We had learning and fun time together! Thank you the crew of the Tumu Toka CurioScape!
