Wow! This was a really cool experience. There is so much history with these caves and our tour guide sang to us in the "cathedral" where the acoustics are incredible. The glow worm boat ride, in the dark, was truly a beautiful experience.

Certainly not cheap, but I think worth it. The glow worms are outstandingly beautiful and the information about them supplied by the guide is fascinating. Sadly no photos can be taken inside the caves. Amazingly, the caves were not explored until 1887 by a Maori Chief and an English Surveyor. The company claims to be the oldest tourist attraction in NZ.

I visited with my wife and another couple this past Saturday. This would be our first experience of the Caves and we weren't let down at all!. I would highly recommend this experience and the value for money was outstanding. From the booking, ticket staff to the cafe staff everyone was hugely friendly and made for the experience an even more magical one. Cory our guide was simply amazing, hugely knowledgeable as well as having direct ties to the ancestors of the story of the Cave. Was blown away with the people have visited and the " lights off " experience inside the cave with Cory sharing a song was truly a magical moment. To think such high profile singers have been in the cave and have shared this unique special place was amazing to know. The glowworm experience was amazing and I can't recommend this experience highly enough and we will be back in the future for sure! Thank you again! it's incredible to think we have all of these special places in our own backyard of New Zealand.

The guide was an extremely charming lady, a proud great great granddaughter of the brave founder who discovered this galaxy of Glowworms inhabiting the gigantic Waitomo cave. A quirky story teller who engaged us right from the beginning till the end. A must go place for someone who wants to get away from the worldly troubles and get lost in the surreal galaxy of these beauties

Very professional and perfect for families. It was my wife's first visit and she loved it. It was cleaner, drier, and with a lot more glow worms than expected. My 3yo loved the boat and she could walk all of the experience. 1hr time was good for her too. I was very impressed by the guides. They kept the group moving well and created good humour. You really can get close to the glow worms and the lighting of the caves makes them look magnificent.

Had a great tour of the glowworm caves the boat ride at the end was really good. The guide was very knowledgeable and provided a good level of humour throughout the tour. I could imagine the place being packed out when international tourists return. So I would urge New Zealanders to visit whilst it is quieter and help the local businesses.

SUCH a great experience. Our guide (George) was charming, funny, experienced and informative. The tour was a lovely mix of history, science and personal stories. I would warmly recommend this, although keep in mind general tours are not exactly designed for kiddies under maybe about 8.

An incredible experience and currently it is so quiet it's almost like a private tour. Great guides and an amazing story. A must visit for tourists and locals alike.
