Second time dining here. Beautiful layout, decor and furnishings. The staff are very attentive and polite. Josh is our favourite. Spaghetti pasta was a little oily. It had lots of prawns and the serving size was optimal for a main. 7/10 for the pasta because it was a tad too oily. Oysters were fresh and tasty.

The steaks were delicious, our waiter was really friendly and nice, paid for our bill on our table and left the restaurant with positive thoughts. However, these thoughts were ruined when one of the worker at Charley Noble decided to chased us while we were leaving the building to confirm whether or not we had paid our bill. We think that this was unprofessional, rude, and quite insulting when clearly there were some communication errors from their behalf.

Wow. What an awesome place for some great food. Unfortunately they don’t take booking for less than 8 people so it’s a good idea to get in early or prepare to wait. We order the grilled octopus and seafood chowder to start. The octopus was one of the most tender I’ve had and tastes deliciously charred, but the seafood chowder was a winner as it had so much depth and so full of flavour. We had the grilled cauliflower and the eye fillet for mains. Again, the cauliflower was sweet, nutty and well balanced, while the eye fillet was perfectly medium rare with a good crust. You get a choice of sauce and a range of mustard and condiments for free. The horseradish creme was exceptional. Overall, a great meal and top service.

I have been dining at Charley Noble since they opened. Before that The Whitehouse was my and my wife’s favourite and we also dined and entertained clients at Whitebait. Last evening when dining at Charley Noble I left disappointed and for the first time ever did not leave a tip. My wife’s fillet was rare, she asked for it medium. Due to a medical condition I cannot eat ice cream so when I ordered the Peaches for dessert I asked the waiter to substitute the ice cream with a sorbet that was on the menu.. The waiter came back and said the chef wasn’t prepared to do that as that is not how the dish was designed. So I was not able to have dessert. Pretty piss poor. We are spoilt for dining choices in Wellington and life is too short to deal with precious chefs who don’t appreciate those who pay the piper. It was a sour finish to our dining experience after many years of loyalty and after waiting an hour to be seated. Sad for the waiting staff the chefs lack of service effected theirs. We will not be returning because Wellington has so many other options where the chefs know what serving clients needs actually means.

Tried their oysters, smoked sardines, sourdough, flat bread, gnocchi, venison, beef cheeks, and chocolate mousse... Bloody great! We were seated at the bar and we could see all the chefs cooking and preparing the food, all the staff picking up orders and serving them, it was all so fascinating to watch the kitchen in action because they were all so good at and knew what they were doing. It was a pretty busy night. The restaurant was packed. Fantastic food and fantastic service!

This is one of the not many places who can make my steak rare! Love their peppered sauce with it and all sorts of mustards they offer. If I order steak, i get a fillet. I have tried over cuts but fillet is my favorite. Had tried lamb. Also very good ! I recommend fish crockets for appetizers. Soo good ! I think I can eat a whole a lot of them. Oysters are nice. Tried pate. Little bit salty, but I actually like it that way. I have not noticed but other people asked me if i find it too salty. My fab side is green peas ! I have posted a pic with the fillet cut and side of peas next to it. I have not tried any desserts there . Usually I am too full by the time I finish the main.

Such a lovely restaurant. Definitely a go to if you're in Wellington. Have come from Auckland for a holiday and pleased we made it here for dinner. Hospitality and food absolutely amazing. We didn't manage to get the waiter who served us in the beginning of the night but the gentlemen was so helpful, towards the end of the night we met William who was just as great. 10 out of 10, will be back when we visit Wellington again

Every time is an awesome experience, food is excellent and service next to none. Would love the option to book but is not a deal breaker.
