I think its a darn shame that the Dominion Museum stand empty, without any exhibitions. I would like to hope that an effort would be made to have a National War Memorial similar to that of Canberra and Auckland. Te Papa is just a disgrace and only resembles a feminist paradise of re-writing our history. Ive asked on several occasions why there isn't a permament display of the Governors and Governors General insignia and other paintings at Te Papa to be told 'it is no longer culturally appropriate'. I hope one day we have a National War Memorial, and that the Countries history might be restored inside the Dominion Museum. Sir Peters Exhibitions was Just INCREDIBLE! that would make a good permament display with slight changes in other parts of the museum relevant to WW2, Korea, Vietnam etc etc etc

Good exhibition. The WW1 trench experience not suited to children.

Sadly no new exhibition has replaced Sir Peter Jackson’s ANZAC Centennial display. The lack of ongoing connection and use of this building in relation to the Pukeahu War Memorial Park is a crying shame, and an embarrassment when showing visitors around.

Closed, Don't bother, assumed it was something to do with the war memorial, but isn't. Wellington doesn't seem to have a war memorial exhibition similar to Canberra's. Very disappointing

Nice architecture in a boxy sort of way. Currently housing Great War Exhibition, but cannot say for how much longer. Wouldn't go out of my way to look at the building by itself, but you may as well if you are up that way.

Excellent exhibition on the First World War by Sir Peter Jackson. Shame they had to slap a charge on it... Allow at least 3 hours. At lunch time the nearby carillon plays free music ända the war memorial is worth a visit. Nearby don't forget excellent coffee with style at the Havana roastery and watch the coffee being roasted

All displays and interactives extremely well set-out. Tour guide knew her stuff.
