I was here on a perfectly clear, sunny day. Great ambiance, not too crowded, but not deserted at the same time. Plenty of restaurants and cafe's with indoor and outdoor dining. Alot of time and money has been spent resurrecting the old derricks and buildings to make it into a great tourist spot. Very clean and easy to get to by foot or pushbike if you are staying in Wellington.

Dawn towards the ranges in the East. The sunrises are magnificent across Te Whanganui a Tara.
It is a very beautiful location and full of restaurants.
If you love the sea you will enjoy this developed, waterfront setting which has been designed for your aesthetic appreciation, recreation and entertainment. There are pop-up stalls, markets, recreational events and sporting activities available all year round and an array of cafes and food kiosks as well as a host of bustling pubs and seafront restaurants to choose from. The fabulous ocean views change as constantly as the weather and in summertime, "where the living is easy" the breezes are a welcome bonus. And at nightfall there is also the opportunity to indulge in night photography to capture special harbour moments to share with friends and loved ones.
