Totally a wonderful experience. Trams from times past in Wellington city. Museum to spend time in. Lovely to see the heritage of our capital city being preserved here for the future generations.

The trams are from the 1920s and 1930s and were used in Wellington. Now they restored and cared for by volunteer members of the Wellington Tramway Museum. As it's a not-for-profit incorporated society there are donation box if you wish to contribute. The museum includes more trams, old trams that need restoring, history of the trams and lots more to look around. They have a video running that explores the history which also includes black and white video footage. Open on Saturdays and Sundays, it's worth the time to visit. They have trams that run from the museum down to the beach and back - what a great idea.
Very interesting to see what trams looked like many years ago. If is fun to go for a ride to the beach with the friendly and Informative volunteers.
Kids loved this place! Ride the rail out to the beach and back, learn about trams at the museum, and have an ice cream in the park. A perfect day out!
Great little space, you may need to come earlier because the tram operation hour is not punctual.
Awesome facility maintained by volunteers.
A fantastic destination for an interesting day out. Take a ride on the 100 year old trams that have been beautifully restored after being left for scrap. Visit the tram museum, a shed full of memories of Wellington in the 1900's. Talk to the engineers and hear their enthusiasm and enjoy their stories. Bring a picnic and explore the beach! Our family's happy place!
Great place to learn and experience NZ tram history.
