we had a solar system installed, back in 2015 or 2016, in Wellington. We have had problems right from the start with the Enphase monitor, and have phoned the company a number of times. However, now that we are spending more time in NZ under lock down, we are watching the monitor, and you guessed it, faulty again. Asked someone to call out, they came, and the monitors are not being made anymore, nor can you get parts. Really - yes, REALLY. Solar is anything but cheap to instal, and one would think the monitor would go for more than this. Oh, they took it apart, found saw dust and insects. Um, saw dust from cutting winter wood in another garage - separated by a wall). Our comments were, obviously, the casing of the monitor, is cheap, and if they company knew this, why advise us to instal it in the garage when it could clearly have been installed in the house, or have had its own protective box made so the inferior casing of the monitor would be protected. NO we got no such advice, and now, its just under 2,000 including GST to get a new one.
We feel extremely let down, and originally thought the company were efficient, but now have many queries. If we get one of their Enphase Envoy S Monitoring Systems, will it be 4 or 5 years and we are heading down the same track of yet another replacement. We have NEVER known whether all of our solar panels are working or not, because of this component not working correctly from day 1. Clearly, we are not at all happy.
