A great camp ground. The grounds was very tidy with beautiful bush all around. There are some great bush walks as well. I enjoyed waking up to the sounds of birds singing plus there was a morepork calling most nights Very basic clean toilets and hot showers. Will be staying there again

This is not the doc operated one. The site is on a private land. Was really busy over the new year's. No dedicated spots or markings. FIND YOUR OWN SPOT! First come first serve. Costed 18 per person and had to book for 4 nights as a policy. No kitchen facilities. There's 1 gas BBQ for use. Be mindful of the possums at night. 10 Port a loos but can get busy and some may be out of order. 2 hot showers available, better to use the stream which is a 5 min walk from the campsite. Do not take any glassware!! Few basic things are available at the counter for a reasonable price. Place is 10 min drive from Managawhata. Can enjoy a couple of walks and a dip in the stream..

Sent two emails giving one month's notice for a powered site. Never heard back from either email so rung. Got an answerphone left a message for them to ring one week out from our trip. Never heard back so just rocked up. The place was filthy. Overgrown grass everywhere was so unimpressed we turned around and left. Would not recommend and will never return. Looks nothing like the photos

Awesome place to camp if you love being in nature. Nikki is a wonderful host and explains everything well. You can choose from numerous camp sites in beautiful settings.. go Bush walking from the camp, see a high waterfall, swim in the river or go check out the glow worms. Toilets are long drops but clean and the showers are basic and 2 if you want it hot. Overall a very relaxing peaceful place to stay and I'd certainly go back again!

The kids had such a great time here. We did the mine walk which was just long enough for them (about an hour return, our kids were 4 1/2, 3 and 3). Mostly flat terrain but there are some small hills and path narrows with a steep drop in some places. Our 4 1/2 yr old was fine but we held our 3 yr olds hands in the narrow parts. X2 closed off tunnels to view on the way through and a shallow (ankle deep-ish) river crossing over to the picnic area. Their favourite part was playing in the small river at the concrete bridge, entertained them for nearly an hour.

It's awesome. Bring the dogs. I think the guests are nicer too because they aren't digist.lots of shade. Safe for kids.

Despite Nikkie was very friendly and kind, Wentworth valley is not the pearl that many people said that it is. Is nice to do the walks but I do not recommend to stay there. There are 3 long drops toilet for too many people, and the extraction system wasn't working, so the toilet were absolutely disgusting! Just 2 showers weren't enough for all the people that were at the campground! 18 NZD/person, per day is not worth it for the facilities that they offer! We stayed in a tent in a non-power site! The landscape is nice, but you do not need to stay there to enjoy it, you can visit the place.
