A stunning location overlooking the water. Very friendly and helpful staff, in all areas. A good selection of tap beers and drinks list. The menu offers a wide selection of meals with a special option offered each night. Great spare ribs, good quality and quantity. Prices very reasonable.

We had a nice evening there and the food was great, but WOW.....The staff are very unfriendly and unwelcoming. In particular one woman called Shirley... Wow extremely unwelcoming and verbally aggressive. We also heard her being verbally aggressive towards other patrons as well. People like Shirley should not be in this hospitality role or even in the industry of hospitality, and the management should fire her, unacceptable behaviour. Until the management can sort their staffing issues, I would definitely NOT recommend this club for a drink or to Dine at to anyone. I would not even recommend it to new members to join this club. I have never experienced anything quite like it.....
Great place for a casual meal, 20 meal deal dinner specials 7 nights a week includes a drink, we had the Surf n Turf on a Monday which comes with chips and coleslaw, and a glass of beer. Good food, lovely service, great value. Note if you're not a club member you'll need to make a 5 donation but it's worth it as food and drink prices are very reasonable and the location has one of the best views of the water in Whangamata. We are here for the week and will be back tomorrow!
The service is terrible. The club is unfriendly and unwelcoming to outsiders. One staff member in particular: "Shirley" is physically aggressive and harasses new customers. Don't recommend this place at all! Don't visit, don't join, don't support. I asked management to address it and was immediately dismissed in that the manager asked if I was a member and since I was just a visitor he had "too many other members to attend to despite having a problem staff member, also too busy with his wife"... when I called and spoke to a staff member they were aware of Shirley being aggressive to visitors. Please don't support this place!

Excellent surprise. Traveling the Coromandel for a week, our group took a punt on dinner-out here. The standard menu caters to locals with pizza, steak/chips, burgers etc, well priced. But keep an eye out for the specials board at the ordering counter, as it's here the kitchen is punching way above their weight. Tuna on roasted miso paste, Sashimi, and the best creme brulee I've had in a long time, made for one of the most satisfying meals I've had in the Akl area (No offense Coromandel). The setting at the Whangamata rivermouth, peaking over to the Whangamata bar is amazing at sunset, there's a decent APA on tap, if you're happy with a casual setting, the food and price shouldn't disappoint. I heard lunches are equally good, although I'm not sure if they run the specials. There was a 5 donation fee w/ sign-in procedure for non-members. Slightly strange welcome, but purely a formality with some food and bar order explanation included. Wish we'd had another night here to work threw their menu. Highly recommended.
Busy but not crazy. Service very poor and detracted from the usually high standard we have experienced here. Staffing issues should not become guests issues...
