This place is worth a visit to Whanganui on its own. Stay up the road at BKs Magnolia Motel for the perfect match. Owners of Barracks Denise and Mike have done a magnificent job converting the old RSA into a warm friendly bar and restaurant. Had to have the steak on two occasions both amongst the best eaten anywhere. Their staff are so warm and Friendly Lou Latisha Jess and Millie all absolutely brilliant. Give it a go folks worth visiting Whanganui for. And the beer is lovely and cold

Great place to eat. Nice food and very reasonable prices. Staff are friendly and helpful. I think I ate too much. And now am dealing with a mix of guilt and happiness. Guilt because I ate too much and happiness because it tasted good and the overall experience was great. Highly recommended!
