On my way home yesterday I felt that I had just been attended to by the most professional, inteligent, knowledgeable, genuinely caring and concerned team (Vanessa and Dr Nicolas Ridet) that one could ever hope for. I still don't feel like I am out of the woods just yet but It is Incredibly reassuring to know that I have you guys looking after me. Whitianga is very lucky to have both of you.

Would not recommend. I contacted Mercury Bay to book a casual appointment for an urgent matter. Initially I was offered an emergency appointment but once I clarified that I was a casual client from out of town I was told I could no longer have that appointment slot and I would instead have to wait in the centre all day in the hope of a drop in appointment which would cost 125. This disregard of social distancing considering the covid alert levels at the moment was pretty shocking. I then called “Te Korowai Hauora O Hauraki-Whitianga” who were very professional and immediately acknowledged my urgency to receive medical attention. They offered me an appointment for an hour after my call for a lower cost of 80 which included getting bloods done with results the following day. Te Korowai Hauora O Hauraki-Whitianga is a non profit organisation that I would much rather support and would urge others to do the same.

Because I'm not citizen, resident and I don't have one work visa with 2 consecutive years they asked me 175 for one consultation for see what happen with the ear infection. I didn't have this money at this moment so I asked to them if I could to pay few weeks later when I'll get my new payslip. They told me that wasn't an option. I felt really sad and little at this moment. I felt that If you don't have the money of the high price that they ask they don't care about you or if you need to see a doctor anyway. I don't reccomend. I was lucky because I found Te Korowai medical center, they made me feel that they understood my situation and the doctor that saw me gave all for I can go outside of my infection. Take o leave my comment, I needed to say what I lived. Cheers

Terrible wait times, why book people in when you are too busy. It is upsetting and costly, when you have to take time from work or pay for childcare to wait for an hour before you can see a doctor. You can ring and ask how they are on wait times and the lie and say they are not running behind.

Health care for under 5's is free in nz, they wanted to charge 45 for under 14year old casual patient. Under 14s registered or not receive free health care in NZ either from registered GP or an a&e, How you guys receive the funding still choose to charge this much with no emergency care centre or a&e in whitianga for casuals to go to is just wrong. Also FYI it doesnt matter if people cant pay at time of consultation you cannot refuse them medical care. Take their details and send them to debt collection if they dont pay but most people do pay. So much for your oaths when you all started medicine. If your needing to see a doctor in Whiti go to Te Korowai or just drive to thames. My nephew, didnt get satisfactory care here either waited 2 days for an exray on his broken and dislocated thumb and bad ligamemt damage only to be told by specialist at hamilton a couple days later he got xrayed too late and its been sitting in a cast too long to do surgery etc and now his thumb is buggered for life.

Amazing care, great time management, and thoughtful staff. I was very lucky to have the care of 2 of their Doctors and 3 or 4 Nurses over 3 days.
