What a beautiful architecture. Loved every corner of the building, interior, exterior, even toilets. The pattern on the ground floor was most impressive. Well worth a visit.

The most photographed building in the country, the Dunedin Railway Station was constructed in 1906. The station is constructed of dark basalt with lighter Oamaru stone facings, giving it the distinctive light and dark pattern. Featuring mosaic-tile floors and beautiful stained-glass windows. The roof was tiled in terracotta shingles from Marseilles surmounted by copper-domed cupola. No expense was spared to create this magnificent building. The roof is adorned with red Marseille tiles from France. Inside, is the mosaic floor. More than 725,000 Royal Doulton porcelain squares form images of steam engines, rolling stock, and the New Zealand Railways logo.
Spacious design, Clean, and well-managed. The architecture is quite impressive.
Nice building over there. I wanted to have a railway trip and tried to book the ticket one day in advance, but the tickets all sold out. The officer there said I should book the tickets 1 week in advance.
A must see. Well kept gardens surround this old Dunedin Railway station building. As you walk through the station, following the stairs upwards and looking down one can't help but reflect on the past and feel the excitement of hustle and bustle of commuters in times gone by. Wow what a journey they must have had with so many stories to tell.
This railway station is the most beautiful one I've seen in all my life.
This is a great place to visit and look around! Very unique railway station in New Zealand
