This place does not vet anyone anyone can become a seller. When I called to complain that Good Vibes Fungi were selling mushroom growing kits in single use plastic bags they did not investigate. They also did not even bother to ring me back. Other sellers are using biodegradable bags but those mushroom bags sold at the expo are not even recyclable. Also They were able to sell a species that can destroy NZ fungi but did not even bother to follow up on my compliant. Have gone to the media and hired a PI to investigate. It is sad someone was able to put on display an imported mushroom and let it release its spores while sitting next to the endemic NZ mushroom it can destroy at the expo. This is the exact opposite to sustainability. How is at the expo Good Vibes fungi were able to put these species together and endanger our native mushrooms. This is the most insane thing I have ever seen and I introduced this new growable native species to the world was the first person to grow it. Now I am spending my own personal money on trying to protect it from destruction at the sustainable expo, makes perfect sense. Sending all video footage to the media. You will also be a part of my upcoming documentary "The destruction of NZ Fungi Species"

I have just returned from the March 28th expo and overall it had been a productive, pleasant experience. I mainly went there to gather information, and capture ideas. I have learnt a lot from just a handful of speakers at the exhibition. Very grateful of the attempt of nzers providing this event and opportunity for those that are really serious in trying to improve the planet and wanting alternative ways to live to become more sustainable. It was also a very good way to raise awareness about what is happening around not just the world itself but NZ and what we can do to help it. Unfortunately there were more shoppers than listeners, and the expo seemed to have catered more for people to eat and shop, rather than to listen and spread the more important idea about the show: which was how we can live a greener life. I was rather disappointed that there was literally around two stalls that were related to gardening. Growing in your gardens or even in a small space for self production I thought is a brilliant idea to empower people to do, and I'm surprised at the amount of stalls there that were selling edibles such as vegan balls, coffee products, probiotic yoghurts, tea, began snacks etc - yes they have their bit, but some are definitely not sustainable and unfortunately shy off the sustainable category. One time use food testers.. bins of them, just like that and it goes into landfill. Nonetheless I definitely benefited from this experience and bought myself an amazing compost box. It was not cheap, but it is totally worth it. Thank you for whoever organized this event, despite some of the poor choices in companies allowed to be there. I am looking for the next closest thing and reap more information.
