Nice track. Blackberries on the track too! It is pretty long if you do the whole thing though so be prepared.

Nice and quiet track at a remote, lovely place. The whole track took us four and a half hours with picking boysen berries, having lunch and taking pictures. A little bit muddy in autumn also on sunny days... There are a lot of birds and some really big old trees, good for a rest or lunch :)
Really good way to break up a trip from chch into central for me. It's a good hour to run it with decent fitness. Nice quiet bush and a couple of excellent views.
Great to see an information board.
Beautiful track. Very uphill. First km is more undulating and quite pretty, if you want a shorter walk. Forest quite young, mostly large kānuka with māhoe, fivefinger and coprosma coming up underneath. So many bellbirds and fantails, and I even saw riflemen near the kiln!
Nice walk with family, took us 3.5 hrs but stopped frequently with ages 7 and 9. The kids loved it and want to do the loop again.
